Out-Of-School Time Supporting Student Attendance and Graduation

Research shows that good out-of-school time programs can address student absence by providing socialization and peer attention in a supervised venue. Hear from statewide experts the strategies and techniques they use to reduce chronic student absence and truancy city and countywide.

 

Becoming an Effective Advocate

Session Description
Participants will learn how to use research to make their case and how to utilize effective grassroots strategies. The discussion will focus on a cycle of elements and a common sense approach to engage and motivate policy makers to become advocates for quality afterschool programs.

 

Cutting Costs, Keeping Quality: Financing Strategies for Afterschool Programs in a Difficult Economy

In tight fiscal times afterschool programs must consider a combination of cutting costs and exploring new funding sources and strategies to keep their doors open. During this interactive session, participants will discuss strategies for managing program costs as well as new sources of funding.
