Greene County Afterschool Summit

The Greene County Afterschool Summit, A Continuum of Learning: PA Supports the Power of Afterschool, is one of many Afterschool Summits sponsored by the Pennsylvania Statewide Afterschool/ Youth Development Network (PSAYDN) across the state to connect community leaders and raise awareness on the importance of afterschool and youth development programs for Pennsylvania’s children, youth and families.
This Summit will address the state of youth in Greene County, highlight county statistics, discuss the needs of the community and present promising strategies to support the community in developing an effective plan to help children and youth reach their education goals and prepare for the workforce.
Summit participants will receive information and resources regarding the benefits of afterschool and youth development programs, effective use of school and community resources to remove barriers to learning, and an Advocacy Toolkit.
This Summit will provide valuable information for supporters and advocates who work on behalf of Pennsylvania children and youth. This may include but is not limited to parents, policymakers, childcare providers, afterschool and youth development program providers, educators, guidance counselors, human service workers and law enforcement officials, etc.
Registration Information
- There is no registration fee to attend, but pre-registration is required.
- A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
- Participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging arrangements.

Parking for this event is available at the University Parking Lot.
Act 48 Credits
PSAYDN is housed at the Center for Schools and Communities, as a division of the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit, that provides Act 48 professional development credit for those with Pennsylvania teaching or administrative certificates. If you are interested in receiving Act 48 credit, please check the appropriate box on the registration form. Participants must attend the workshop from beginning to end.
Please note: In order to receive Act 48 credit you MUST list your Professional ID # on the appropriate Act 48 paperwork supplied at the event. If you are unsure of your Professional ID # you can look it up prior to the event, by going to the Pennsylvania Department of Education website, www.pde.state.pa.us, clicking on the "Act 48 Reporting System" link under the Access Services column and then clicking on the "Get Your Professional Personnel ID" link and completing the required information.
